GIMME COMMENTS!!!

Read a book on blogging, just about any book on blogging, and you will always find the following sentence in some form or fashion:

“Always end your posts with a ‘So what do you think?’…”

I generally don’t do that.

Personally, ending your posts with a ‘So what do you think…’ gives me the creeps. It seems like the people who write blogging books are encouraging schizophrenia in some form.

If you want to comment, then comment. If you don’t want to comment then don’t.

I’m not trying to present some form of apathy with that last statement. I’m just saying that it’s your choice to add to the conversation.

In the event that there are some fearless people who would like to comment, please be nice. Be nice to yourself. Be nice to anyone else who might also be commenting. Be nice to me. If you’ve got something to say that’s not nice, email me.

You may not like it here. That’s fine. You can always leave. Just remember that you are always welcome to come back as well.

I really like your blog. Really. I wish every English teacher could read how you became a writer. (I was one for 20 years.) Maybe you wouldn’t have such a clear, honest voice if those shitty teachers hadn’t made it so easy for you to see that their opinions don’t matter? (Nah, there really isn’t any silver lining in having those kinds of teachers. I’m guessing you’re the writer you are in spite of them, not because of them.) I found your blog because you commented on mine, one I recently launched and thought of as being mostly for middle-aged women (like me). You’ve got me thinking maybe not so much. I’ll definitely be back.
